Just purchased this on Audible, regarding the scenario packs is there any reason why 26 is missing?

NF#26 'Land of Fire & Ice' should be in the scenario pack. Had some difficulty designing that one - it is more story (book 2 - Fire & Ice) focused so working it as a scenario went through several re-starts.

I just finished H-Hour.... outstanding work! Are future installments still in work?

If so, I cannot wait. Really well done, good characters and a great choice focusing on just a couple plotlines once the balloon went up.

Really incredible creativity and writing.

Thank you for your kind words.

Yes, we are working hard on book #2 'Fire & Ice' as well as a novella to follow the story of Norwegian Coast Guard ship Nordkapp

You can stay up to date by following our newsletter, the January edition has an excerpt from Fire & Ice where Jan Olsen makes a brief appearance.

Hi,

Just wanted to say that I recently finished your book as well and really enjoyed it too. Fire and Ice will be an instant buy!

I do have a suggestion though.....

Not all readers will be CMO players or hardcore military tech savants with knowledge of all the weapons, radars, comms etc., etc. that were, are, or will be out there. Nor will they all be thrilled with running off to Wikipedia or other sources every time a new (to the reader) system or whatever is introduced. Would you please consider using a proper glossary in the book? The entries need not be overly detailed... just a few sentences would do. Eg. Soviet air defence radar guided missile in use from 1980 t0 19xx with a range of xxxx an max/min alt of yyyy/zzzz. You get the idea I'm sure. If the reader wants to know more then they can leave the comfort of their favourite reading chair as required.

Just a thought,

Rob.
So we're at war with the Russkies eh?? I suppose we really ought to invade or something. (Lonnnng pause while studying the map)

OK

First of the Pacific Fury scenarios is up for testing. https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=4991665

Pacific Fury #1 Bolt from the Blue. You command the USS Independence CVBG at the outbreak of the war. Will you have a command left at the end of the day?

Gunner98,

Any recommended readings for "real-world" data on the Fury scenarios? Were there any specific reference books that you used for the scenario creation that might help a player? For example, I was thinking of grabbing Jane's All the World's Aircraft 1994-95 as quick reference for all the air platforms in your scenarios.

I've got Janes aircraft(91) and Janes fighting ships (92) plus Combat Fleets (late 80s I think), Soviet Navy (5th ed) and few others but to be honest, I only go to them for clarity and for really obscure stuff. I mostly go online and compare several sources, hindsight provides a lot of interesting angles.

I touch a lot of the data on my webpage http://northernfury.us/ go to the dropdowns for NATO and Warsaw Pact. In those I explain where I've varied from reality but it is probably 85% real. There are a lot of good links as well

I really tried hard not to stick with one source as there were a lot of late Cold War misconceptions

So no single book, but it is a lifetime of reading...

We've got a new Blog post - Mediterranean Fury Background

For those who've played through the first 5 Med Fury scenarios this might help paint the canvas a bit.

Currently working on wrapping up Baltic Fury, the last two scenarios in that set are from the Soviet side. Once they're done it will be back to the Med for

MF #6: Revisit the Stone Age, as the Nimitz comes through he Suez and takes over the task of restoring cave dwelling as an acceptable way of life for the Syrian military

MF#7: Push Back, as Nimitz & Ark Royal support a counter attack in the Bosporus area

MF#8: Regime Change, where Qadhdhāfī has a bad day

From there it will be back to the Pacific for a while.

Enjoy
