Don't get me wrong, I am not here to complaint the new change. I just feel curious about the reason behind the change
Here is the new poH calculation formula
Here is the calculation from pervious version6/15/1995 12:06:05 PM - Weapon: AIM-120A AMRAAM #22 is attacking Red1 #2 (Su-27S Flanker B) with a base PH of 90%. PH adjusted for weapon speed: 85% (pure-aerodynamic attitude control). Red1 #2 has nominal agility: 4.5, adjusted for altitude: 2.2. Agility adjusted for proficiency (Regular): 1.76. Aircraft has a weight fraction of 0.38 - Agility adjusted to 1.36. High-deflection impact (no effect on agility). Final agility modifier: -14%. Intercept angle is 260 deg - hit probability adjusted to 40%.Final PH: 40%. Result: 24 - HIT
with the new formula, the hit angle has a significant impact on the final PoH (that does make sense though), on the two cases above , the weapon PoH adjusted after speed is similar, target A/C's final agility modifier is similar. But the new formula halved the final PoH as the Su-27 beam the incoming AMRAAM.6/26/2022 12:38:24 PM - Weapon: AIM-120C-7 AMRAAM P3I.3 #102 is attacking Falcon #2 (Su-27S Flanker B) with a base PH of 95%. PH adjusted for weapon speed: 93% (pure-aerodynamic attitude control). Falcon #2 has nominal agility: 4.5, adjusted for altitude: 2.2. Agility adjusted for proficiency (Regular): 1.76. Aircraft has a weight fraction of 0.49 - Agility adjusted to 1.24. High-deflection impact (no effect on agility). Final agility modifier: -12%. Final PH: 81%. Result: 21 - HIT
