Strategic Command WWI: Empires in Turmoil is coming soon

Post by NotTooBad »

Soldiers, Strategic Command WWI will have it’s first DLC: Empires in Turmoil.

This winter, prepare to fight on some of the most turbulent battlefields of the 20th century, from Siberia to East Africa.

Lead your armies during 6 new campaigns, including the First and Second Balkan Wars, the Russian Civil War and WW1’s German East Africa Campaign.

But that’s not all, there will be new unit types such as German Freikorps, the famed Graf von Goetzen steamer and more. New events including the Albanian independence movement, Allied and possible German intervention in the Russian Civil War and last but not least, an all-new victory condition, the destruction of the enemy army.

Hope you like this and we can’t wait to show you more during the next months.
Stay tuned and wishlist now.

Delighted to hear about these new campaigns for the World War 1 era. Will the Russo-Japanese War game that has already been released be bundled with this one? I realize that BNC was the developer of that game, so it was included as a DLC to Strategy Command: American Civil War. But as an early 20th century conflict which was a curtain-raiser for Russia for its role in WW1, it makes much more sense for it to be packaged as an extension of the WW1 game. I hope that transfer can be made.

BNC is also the developer for some (but not all) of these new campaigns :D

1904 won't be ported over to WWI - there's a few things in the ACW engine that are different to its WWI counterpart determining how units function in that game, and I relied on these to build that campaign the way that I did. It would absolutely be possible to make a 1904 campaign on WWI's engine, it just wouldn't look quite the same as the one I've done.

I hope this DLC gets out for Xmass, I have not been naughty, so I may get a gift. Not that I had time for ACW yet.

The balkan wars are little known, but for the short span of time it changed the geography of the backwaters of Europe, they did put in place every puzzle pieces needed to bring WW1. Namely nationalistic fervor in a region previously les by monarchs/empire. And juicy new lands for the (re)taking by tottering Empires.
